I got a new bike (and blog) last month and was wondering if the RC would eat tires as quickly as the Buell did. Now I know, it does in about twelve hundred miles of mixed riding it has gone from an almost new Pirelli Diablo to almost junk. Oops. I’m going to blame it on our friend Dan. He’s really quite the rider and I have to work the throttle pretty hard to actually lead the rides we go on.

For all you who ride D near Pepin and Arkansaw be careful it’s very sandy right now. There is sand at the turn in points, there is sand at the proper apex, there is sand everywhere. My suggestion tippy toe through the first time to check the conditions. On the plus side in Pierce county the roads are much better. CR A is clear as are SS, UU and O.

Well it appears I am taking the reins on this here blog even though I am not as good at this word thing as my sweetie. This should be interesting as I am not a real talkative guy.

I bought a Honda RC51 a couple weeks ago and now that it has gotten warm enough to be able to ride without getting frostbite I have a couple things to say….. Oh my God.  Some of you may already know I have had  a Buell X1 for the last couple years and have loved it. It was responsive, quick, loud and capable of eating rear tires at an astounding rate because I don’t really know how to ride with any kind of civility. The Buell is a reasonably sharp knife as a motorcycle, the RC is a scalpel. I’m not sure if it’s going to eat rear tires like the Buell does yet but it kicks the Buells ass everywhere else. I have never owned a bike that gives this kind of precision in hitting an apex.  I’ve been happy with a couple inches either side of my mark. With this bike I can narrow it down to a half inch. It’s gonna be fun to get to know this thing as well as I did the Buell.

I’m so sick with anticipation about the final race tomorrow (I can’t wait! Please, don’t let the season end!) I’m just reading and clipping anything I can find.

Here’s an example of how insane the standings are right now: if Nicky Hayden lands second on the podium, Rossi only has to place place fifth to take the title. Third for Nicky means Rossi needs only ninth.

Plus, the front row is Rossi, Capirossi, Bayliss–my sweetheart, two Ducs and one of them ridden by… BAYLISS? Where’d he come from? Nicky lined up right next to Pedrosa, his teammate who ran him off the track and trashed the race in Portugal last time around and…

I’ll just calm down and see if I can get any takers to bet me on how many laps Nakano gets before crashing.

My heart is with Valentino, but when Nicky crashed at Portugal, I actually began to weep. I think I have a little Kentucky in me after all.

I can’t stop this vomity feeling and that’s just the kind of birthday gift my darling husband deserves.

Queensry(umlaut)che (who?) is coming to town on Saturday and they’re going to be riding Buells (ahem, HARLEY-DAVIDSONS). I agreed to join him. (Here comes that feeling.) I’ll be riding about 4 hours behind them. First, because I don’t want to be a part of this and second, because I’ll catch up with them in about 8 seconds.

They’re playing at The Myth nightclub. This will be my second visit there this summer. The bathroom sinks have hot and cold running Red Bull.

Please G-d, don’t let me die on this ride and if I do, cover for me and say I was somewhere else.

P.S. What *is* a Queensryche anyways?

I’ve been to DCTC twice now. The first time I was having PMS and was really, really hot. I didn’t do any worse than anyone else, but my PMS demon was screaming in my head that I was a worthless piece of shit and some fat ass chick kept harshing my buzz, so I sort of punked out. I kept screwing up all the corners, but really, I wasn’t. I just felt like it.

Which might be a good reason to avoid the women’s only class.

I went back to do a story about Steve Bauman, the dreamy instructor. Took lots of pictures, especially of Scott, who did really well.

I know I’ll go again. I just need to schedule it in accordance with the moon or my horoscope or something. I need a hysterectomy if I want to continue riding.
